Absolutely, you can have up to three cards on your account - your main one and two back-ups. If you choose to load multiple cards, be sure to select your preferred payment card in the app.

No, all you really need is the Mobil app as it works just like your physical card. This means that you can earn and redeem Mobil Smiles points just with your phone. But we recommend keeping your physical card as a back-up.
Yes, that’s one of the great features we’ve built into the app. To use Pay in Car, you will need to register your debit/credit cards on the app. Most major AU and NZ debit/credit cards are accepted, with the exception of EFTPOS. Once you’re set up in the app, all you have to do to use Pay in Car is:
Pay in Car is really convenient. To make sure you’ve got enough in the bank to pay for your fuel; a temporary hold for the full selected fuelling amount will be placed on your account by your bank. Once the transaction has been processed by your bank, only the actual cost of the fuel will be deducted, and the rest will be returned to you. While held, you won’t be able to use the funds. It may take between 2 and 10 days for the funds to be available to use, depending on your bank. If you have any questions or need a hand, please contact your bank.
If you realise you’ve selected the wrong pump before filling up, just pick up the nozzle of the selected pump and put it back without fuelling to cancel the transaction. Alternatively, if you wait 3 minutes without dispensing any fuel, the transaction will automatically time out and you can start over. If you’ve authorised someone else’s pump and they’ve started fuelling, please let one of the station staff know immediately. They’re happy to help out.
We use your location to connect you to the Mobil station you’re visiting so you can freely use Pay in Car. Enabling your location settings won’t allow us to track your movements once you leave the Mobil station.
If your phone’s having trouble finding your location, then you won’t be able to use some of the app features like Pay in Car or My Smiles card. However, you can help to improve the location accuracy of your phone by connecting to the free WIFI available at most Mobil stations.

Yes, you will need an internet connection to use the app via your mobile data provider, or you can use the free WIFI available at most Mobil stations.
This is one of the best things about Mobil Smiles points. As long as you complete a transaction using the Mobil app or your physical card at least once a year, your points won’t expire.
Staying on top of promotions and Mobil Smiles points in the app is easy, all you have to do is enable push notifications in your mobile device settings.
Unfortunately no, the Mobil app can only be used in New Zealand.

When pre-paying, you can redeem most of the rewards in your app, including cents per litre off fuel, free carwash or free coffee. You won’t be able to redeem Mobil Smiles points rewards as these are only available to use after fuelling or when using Pay in Car.
If you’ve got a cent per litre off fuel discount reward and have earned enough Mobil Smiles points to redeem $5, you can use these together to get even more value when fuelling. To do this, go to the Rewards page of your app, select the ‘Use multiple rewards’ button and then select the rewards you want to use.
Don’t forget that you can only select and use one Mobil Smiles points reward ($5, $10 or $30) per transaction.
If you have enough points and want to redeem for more than $30, you can do this by going in-store to a cashier who will then help you through the transaction.
Unfortunately, once your reward has expired, you won’t be able to use it. But we’ll keep sending you great rewards, so keep an eye out to get yours and just check the expiry date to make sure you don’t miss out next time.
Losing your phone feels bad enough without losing your hard-earned Mobil Smiles points. So if this happens, please get in touch with Mobil Smiles Customer Service on 0800 880 361 as soon as you can so we can suspend your account.
No problem, simply select ‘Forgot Password’ when logging in and select ‘Reset Password’ after entering your registered email. A link to reset your password will be sent to the email you registered with us.
It’s really frustrating when you lose your card, or if it gets stolen. If this happens you can block it by going into your app settings, selecting ‘Report lost or stolen card’ and then selecting ‘Block card’. You can also use these steps if you just don’t want to use a physical card anymore. If you still want a back-up card, you can add a new card to your account.
When blocking your Mobil Smiles card, only your physical card gets blocked. So, there’s nothing to worry about, you’ll still be able to use the app.
If you forget which email address you’ve registered to the app, just select ‘Can’t Remember Email’ when logging in. You’ll then be directed to register a new account. Don’t worry about the points on your old account, you’ll be able to transfer them across later.
